Financial definition for
Yield CurveA graphical representation that plots current yields of a set of bonds or fixed interest securities against their times to redemption (maturity). Yield is plotted on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal. This enables investors to compare the yields of short, medium and long-term securities at a given time. A normal yield curve is upward sloping, with yields rising as maturity increases. An inverted curve is the reverse.
